Motivational Monday 08.15.22

I think it’s perfect that I’m starting my return to blogging and being more active on posting on Instagram with a Motivational Monday post because I feel like this one speaks to me personally. I think this posts sums up the whole idea I had around trying to do these Motivational Monday posts. I hope this quote and post speaks to you as much as it did to me to write this.

“Today is the your opportunity to build the tomorrow you want.” – Ken Poirot

I’ve always tried to live by the saying of taking everything one day at a time, but I also take it to the extreme where I feel like if I don’t get anything or everything done during my day off on Sunday or Monday, I put it off for the rest of the week until my next day off. That’s how blogging has turned into for me for the past few months and why I’m still staring at a full laundry basket of clean clothes that have been waiting to be folded for at least a week. Do I regret living like this? Yes I do, especially how much I neglected the blog the past few months.

I want to say that life just got busy and in the way from the things I enjoy, but I feel like that’s a cop out, especially because I still made time to sit down and read all the time.

Mondays are the beginning on a new work week. It’s the day to set up everything for the week. It sets the tone for how the rest of the week goes. I’ve noticed it at the restaurant. If we have a rare busy Monday, we tend to be busy every day for the rest of the week. If we get everything done on a Monday that needs to be done to be successful for the rest of the week, it makes everyone’s lives easier and we’re not scrambling to make sure we have enough product to get through.

This is also true in your personal life too. It could be a chore such as putting up the dishes from the dishwasher or folding and putting up laundry as soon as it finishes or it could be something more hobby related as spending a Monday night reading for 30 minutes to an hour. I’m spending today writing out blog posts that I’ve been putting off sitting down and writing for the past few weeks and months to help me get back on track to continue building this blog and brand.

It’s Monday and it’s a great day to set yourself up for a wonderful week.
