Target Haul – September 2023

We are officially in the start of the fall season with the entrance of September! Now if you live in a southern state like me, we’re still dealing with the warmer weather, but right now it feels like we’re getting our first taste of the cooler weather coming. I was afraid for this Target Haul there wouldn’t be many items to share with y’all since we’re still in a transitional stage style wise, but I’m glad Target proved me wrong again. There were so many great options to choose from for items you can wear now and later, that I was afraid that this was going to be a massive haul like last month.

There are 10 outfit pictures in this blog post, but two of those pictures are basically a repeat of the outfit before it – either being a different color of the same item or adding a cardigan to a previous outfit. Here is the September Haul:

Universal Thread Cashmere-Like Cardigan (size Medium – $30) // Universal Thread Mid-Rise 90’s Baggy Jeans (size 10 – $36)

This Universal Thread Cardigan is so soft and comfy. I love a nice waffle knit material and always find myself reaching for those items over ribbed or other material items for cozy comfort clothes. I’m wearing a size medium and it hits right at the wrists for me for a perfect length in the arms when not going for an oversized fit. The length of the cardigan hits right where the mid-rise jeans meet for a polished look and a cropped feel for a more finished look. The tortoise shell buttons also gives it a polished and classic look. This is definitely a staple item for fall.

I wanted to experiment with denim styles and the 90s Baggy Jeans seemed the perfect out of the comfort zone pair to try. There weren’t as much stretch in this denim as my other pair of Universal Thread jeans, so I would say they are true to size or to even size up one if you’re in between sizes. The longer I wore them, the more they grew on me; however, they won’t be a pair that I would find myself spending time looking for. They will work best with a bodysuit or a more fitted top, like the cropped cardigan I’m wearing in the picture.

Universal Thread Cashmere-Like Cardigan (size Medium – $30)

I saw the same cardigan as above in this pattern. If you’re looking for a way to add color into your outfit, this would be a fun way. Falls tend to lean more towards neutral colors for classic looks or darker colors, so this cream color with pastel like splotches is something different.

Universal Thread Flannel Button-Down Shirt (wearing size X-Large – $28) // Universal Thread Mid-Rise 90’s Baggy Jeans (size 10 – $36)

One of my favorite parts of the fall season is flannels and Target is one of my go-to spots for a nice flannel at an affordable price point. This week (week of 9/11), their flannels are 20% off, making it the perfect time to stock up. I normally wear a size Large in the flannels for a loose fit, but able to wear under sweaters for a polished combo. However, I spotted this fun pattern and they only had an X-Large available in store, If you’re wanting a more loose fit in your flannel, I would definitely size up an extra size or two. This size on me would pair well with leggings or unbuttoned over a fitted midi dress or top. There are so many different colors and patterns to choose from for you to find your perfect fall flannel.

Universal Thread Corset Knit Dress (size Large – $25)

This is one of those dresses that I was unsure of when looking at it on the hanger, but actually looks great in person. You can throw on a denim jacket over it and pair it with some ankle boots for an easy fall outfit. I sized up to a Large in this because of how small it looked on the hanger, but I think a Medium would’ve fit perfectly, as there was some room in the waist, but the Large was perfect length wise.

Knox Rose Sleeveless A-Line Dress (size Large – $35)

This dress! It’s the same pattern as the shorts I loved last month and if I hadn’t gotten those, I would probably get this dress too. The perfect fall dress with the color and pattern, it would be easy to pair with. a denim jacket and some high ankle boots. This dress. is actually the same dress that I saw all over social media in a purple and pink paisley design a few months ago. I sized up to a Large because there wasn’t much stretch in the fabric. It’s such a flattering fit that anyone can wear and is comfortable enough for all day wear.

Knox Rose 3/4 Sleeve A-Line Dress (size Medium – $35)

Knox Rose has been killing the dress game lately. This is a dress perfect for all my beige and neutral lovers out there. It has a few of my favorite elements for clothing – balloon sleeves, tassels, and a fun embroidery. I said in my try on video that this embroidery design made me feel like I should be in a Scandinavian country, but really it’s a perfect outfit for an Oktoberfest festival. The size medium fit perfectly length wise with everything being covered in the back, plus some room for movement and swing. You can pair this with white or tan ankle boots to be able to wear now as a transitional outfit.

A New Day Midi Ballet Dress (size Medium – $28)

I shared this dress a few weeks ago in a product collage and knew I had to try it on when I saw it was in stores. Such a cute and classic take on the popular ballerina dress, with a fitted top and flow skirt created by a high low design. The top part of the dress is a ribbed cotton material, while the skirt is a more polyester material. Bonus: It does have pockets! This dress was also available in stores in a black and hot pink color, but more colors are available online.

A New Day Double Flutter Short Sleeve (size Large – $12.75) // A New Day High Rise Wide Leg Trousers (size 10 – $32)

This flutter sleeve top definitely came home with me. I love the dramatic yet feminine look of the sleeves and the color is the perfect fall color to pair with jeans or plaid skirt/pants. It is a little bit on the shorter side length wise, barely touching the top of the pants. If you know you’re going to be moving around a lot, like I do for work, this top may not work out. This color is sold out online, but still available in some stores. They do have it in multiple other colors online though.

These pants are so comfy and the perfect fall worn pants. Same design as the mini skirt I shared last month, these are a high waisted wide leg trouser that fit true to size. The pockets are deep enough for use and they do have a matching blazer with it for a full suit effect.

Universal Thread Corset Tank ( size Large – $16) // A New Day Faux Leather Pull On Pants (size Large – $32)

I really only grabbed this corset tank to pair with the pants for the try on. If you’re looking for a way to elevate a basic white tank, this is a good option. However, for us larger chest girls, I felt like it was a tad too low cut for my preference.

The faux leather pants are really reminding me of Lizzie McGuire’s pants when she’s performing at the end of the movie with the tight fit at the top and flare at the bottom. The material feels the same too as more spandex material with a full elastic waist. These will be an in style piece for this years fashion, but I wish they had a button waist or something to add more style to the pants. However, these pants would look great paired with an oversized sweater and chunky loafers.

Universal Thread Open Knit Cardigan (size Large – $30)

Last is this open knit cardigan. I sized up to a large for layering purposes and it has all the cozy vibes I love in a cardigan. It comes in a few different colors, but of course this camel color is a fall staple item.
