Motivational Monday 09.04.23

Wow, it’s been over a year since I’ve written in this series! This little Motivation Monday series was something I came up with to start off the week with some positivity. Even though today is Labor Day, I’ve been torn on some life choices that I need to make soon and figured this was the perfect time to bring the series back. This series is probably going to be more of a personal journey for me, but I hope that it will also help y’all out with anything you feel like you’re going through.

I like to think of myself as everyone’s personal cheerleader. I’m silently on the sidelines cheering you on for all your successes and want to be there for support for all the low points. Having a strong support system is such an important part of life and is something I have learned over the past three years. I know that not everyone can find someone in their lives to be a strong supporter, so if you are that person just know that my DM’s and emails are always open.

Here is this week’s motivational quote:

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” —Mark Twain

This felt like the perfect quote to restart this series on because of how in your face it is. It’s also a great quote for me personally. I’ve been talking for months about a change I want to make in my life, but haven’t made any actions towards that change. I’m always making excuses about how busy I am at work or how much extra time I want to dedicate to reading or spending time with my loved ones. That’s all it is: excuses. Those excuses I’m making in my head, essentially putting blame on everything and everyone but myself, aren’t helping me make the change I want to make in my life to create a better quality of life for myself.

This quote is also perfect for a refresh because we are at the start of a new month with new monthly goals. Sometimes goals seem less scary and more achievable if they are split into short-term goals. I personally have never done this, but it’s definitely something I need to do to help make more attainable goals and focus more on what I need to do to create a great space for y’all.

So, this is me trying. I’m starting to put more focus on blogging, starting to look into new adventures and challenges, and starting to actually do the projects around the house I keep saying I’ll do. I love that I forced myself to paint the bottom kitchen cabinets last week and it turned out so much better than I thought. I just know if I put my mind to it, all my visions and dreams can come true. I want to also continue to support and grow this community and create new friendships with y’all.

What are some goals you want to get started on, but find yourself struggling with? Let’s chat in the comments below! Y’all have a great week!
