Modern Day Disney Princess – Pocahontas

Pocahontas was the first movie I ever saw in theaters at the young age of a year old. This movie is so dear to me and I believe is the only Disney soundtrack that I had specific to the movie. I do believe my aunt also found out that we’re related to Pocahontas through marriages, but I’m not 100% sure on that fact.

This one was a tough one for me because I want to be respectful of the Native American culture when creating outfits, but I also didn’t want to leave her out of the group as what so often happens. Because of this, I decided to stick close to her outfit from the film – brown with touches of turquoise and white. I also added in some earth tones to give some color to the outfits, for those that aren’t a full neutral outfit fan. It was a bit of a challenge, but I hope I portrayed it well.
