Modern Day Disney Princess – Ariel

We’re officially in the Renaissance Era and what I like to call the boom of Disney princesses. My generation grew up with these princesses and if you ask anyone in their 20s and 30s who their favorite is, it’s probably one of these.

The Little Mermaid was the first of the Renaissance Era, and the first full animated musical film (in my opinion). Ariel gets her own song that everyone knows (that was almost cut by executives!) and the first of many iconic Disney Villain songs.

Ariel was a hard one to come up with an outfit for. She has so many colors to choose from – dark purple (sea shells), green (fin), pink (movie ballgown), and turquoise (her dress in the Disney parks). I decided to go with dark purple for my outfit, mainly because I wanted a reason to share this dress again and because purple and green are the two colors I associate first with Ariel.
