Our Favorite Foods + Drinks at Disney World

One thing I knew we were going to do a lot of on this trip was enjoy all of the food and drink offerings that Walt Disney World (and Universal) has to offer! I love how there is so much thought put into every single part of the Disney parks. Of course, that includes the food and drinks on property. Because we’ve already broken down our days at each park, Mary Ellen and I decided we would give our favorite food and drink items their own post. After all the lengthy posts about our trip at Walt Disney World, I’m going to keep this one short and sweet!

Here’s what you’ll find on this blog post: 1) our favorite foods and drinks at the parks, 2) where you can find each of the items, and 3) prices. This list is in no particular order and follows the chaos of our brains in remembering all that we ate and drank on the trip.

Let’s get started!

Froscato

Of course I had to start out with our first (and my favorite) drink of the trip: the Froscato. Froscato is a mix of moscato, Dole Whip pineapple, and vodka. This frozen treat was amazing. We got it for $15 at The Basket at Wine Bar George (Wine Bar George’s to go window) at Disney Springs.

Tropical Serenade

Keeping with the Dole Whip theme for a second: you know and love the classic Dole Whip pineapple, but did you know that there are loads of other flavors? Disney created the Tropical Serenade as a special treat for the 50th Anniversary and it is here to stay! It’s a Dole Whip coconut float with POG (pineapple orange guava) juice and a pineapple upside down cake pop. You can grab this delicious treat at Aloha Isle in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom for only $7.49.

Butterbeer

Butterbeer may be the sole item from Universal’s Islands of Adventure that made the list, but it can definitely hold its own against all of the treats from Disney! Butterbeer comes in all forms – frozen, hot, fudge, potted cream, ice cream – but we stuck with the classic cold version. The flavor can be compared to butterscotch or cream soda with a thick layer of cream on top. The drink tastes just like you would imagine it does from reading and watching the Harry Potter series. You’ll definitely be living your best wizarding world dreams when you’ve got a cold Butterbeer in hand. You can find Butterbeer at many locations in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but we got ours from the Butterbeer cart outside Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure for $7.99.

Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken

This one is apparently a fan favorite, especially from those who love resort hopping and Disney Vacation Club members who stay at the Old Key West resort. This is the perfect southern comfort food meal. Everything about this dinner was perfection! The gravy with the fried chicken was *chefs kiss* and the green beans and mashed potatoes are so delicious that it’s a “scrape the bottom of the plate” type meal. You find it at Olivia’s Café at Old Key West Resort (you can also order it to go using mobile order). This meal is priced at $25.

Gluten Free Churros

Nomad Lounge is a hidden gem at Animal Kingdom and their gluten-free churros are a hidden gem on the Nomad Lounge menu. They were so crispy and sweet with a perfect amount of cinnamon sugar. These delicious churros come with two dipping sauces: vanilla crema and coffee anglaise. We really enjoyed the Churros with the vanilla crema! The churros plate comes with 6 pieces and costs $9.

Cobb Salad

This is the Cobb salad that began my obsession with Cobb salads! The salad has bacon, avocado, turkey, multiple types of shredded lettuces, hard boiled eggs, chives, bleu cheese, and tomatoes finished with a French vinaigrette. All of the ingredients are super finely chopped, so the salad feels light and refreshing instead of heavy. Found at Hollywood Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios, this salad can help restore your energy level for only $22.

Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich

How many ways can I use the word refreshing in this blog post when describing food? A match made in heaven of the classic ice cream sandwich and a macaron, the macron ice cream sandwich is the perfect snack size item to get a taste of the classic French pastry, but not fill you up as you continue your journey around the World Showcase. Found at L’Artisan des Glaces in France Pavilion, this treat comes in two flavors – chocolate or seasonal. The seasonal flavor when we were there in July was raspberry vanilla. This specialty dessert is $7.

Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese

This meal was one of the best recommendations we got from Disney Food Blog. I can definitely see why it has such rave reviews! Just the name of Baked Mac and Cheese with Pulled Pork is delicious enough, but then you add coleslaw and onion rings to it to complete this mouth-watering combo. You can order this dish from Flame Tree Barbecue in Animal Kingdom (pro tip: use mobile order to avoid waiting in line!). This meal is priced at $12.49.

Citron Slush

I love a good frozen drink and this one was top notch. Found at Les Vins des Chefs de France booth in the France Pavilion in Epcot, the Citron Slush has Grey Goose Citron, vodka, and lemonade. You can also get an orange slush which has Grand Marnier, rum, Grey Goose Orange and orange juice. Both drinks are $14.75.

Grapefruit Beer

This one was a surprise love for me! Germany was the only country I didn’t plan my drink for before the trip. This beer was a spontaneous pick as we were making our way around World Showcase. It is called the Schofferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen. I got it at Sommerfest in the Germany pavilion for $10.75.

Ronto Wrap

This snack is a must try if you’re in Galaxy’s Edge. The Ronto Wrap is pita bread stuffed with roasted pork, grilled pork sausage, peppercorn sauce, and tangy slaw. We ordered one and split it for a snack since it was still too early in the morning for a full meal, but one wrap is definitely filling enough for a meal if you have it to yourself. The Ronto Wrap can be found at Ronto Roasters in Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios and costs $12.99.

Kung Fu Punch

If I don’t pick a frozen drink, something fruity is usually my go-to! The Kung Fu Punch in the China pavilion at Epcot certainly fit the bill. This drink was so delicious, and the cup was filled to the brim so you really get your money’s worth. We split this one because it was later in the day on our “drink around the world” day and we didn’t want to get too intoxicated before we made it all the way around World Showcase. We both agreed that we would go out of our way to get this drink again in the future. Kung Fu Punch  can be purchased for $11 at The Joy of Tea stand.

Parmesan Fries

This item is so hard to promote as a favorite because there’s a little caveat: you can’t get the Parmesan fries by themselves. They only come as a side with a few entrees: Stack Burger, Gourmet Grilled Cheese, Turkey Club, and Steak Frites. The waffle fries were delicious and had loads of salty parmesan on them. If they came as an appetizer or could be ordered on their own as a side item, I would definitely go to Steakhouse 71 just to get them with a fun drink. You can find the Parmesan Waffle Fries at Steakhouse 71 in the Contemporary Resort. The price range of the entrees they come with is $16-$26.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

This treat was the perfect marriage of cake and Dole Whip. Who would have thought to put Dole Whip pineapple on top of pineapple upside down cake? It was so refreshing in the hot July weather. Found with all the other yummy dole whip treats at Aloha Isle, this treat can be yours for only $6.99.

Overall, there we didn’t think that anything we ate at Universal and Walt Disney World was bad, but these items were most definitely the standouts. What are some of your favorite foods at Disney World? Maybe we’ll get a chance to try them the next time we’re there!
