Altar’d State December 2021 Try On

Hey y’all! It’s been such a long time since I’ve stepped foot into an Altar’d State store. The store in my home town closed down a few years ago and I honestly don’t know if they had one in New York City. However, when I was at the Galleria in Dallas a few weeks ago to get some inspiration and holiday try ons completed at stores we don’t have here, I was drawn in my all the sparkle outfits that would be perfect for the holiday parties and New Years Eve.

I spent a lot of time walking around the store and finding a good variety of holiday outfits and causal outfits for the southern winter weather. Down here, we honestly don’t need to start wearing fall outfits until the end of November, beginning of December. I mean it was 70 degrees here just yesterday! Anyways, this try on post is a little lengthy, but I wanted to give you a full roundup of different outfits found at Altar’d State.

Before I get into the try on, I do want to disclaim that this store isn’t very tall friendly. I’m 5’8 and a lot of the skorts, skirts and dresses came up a little short on me.

Jessie Lynn Shacket

$79.95

My fall and winter obsession for the past year has been shackets. They’re so easy to layer with and be a lightweight jacket when it’s just a windy day out. This shacket is perfect to either wear as a button-down itself or to throw on for a protective layer when running out for errands or for a brunch with friends.

Willa Plaid Skort

$59.95

This skort is letting me live out all my cheerleader wannabe dreams. I was a little confused when putting the skirt on, as thought I put it on backwards, but the zipper placement helped a lot. I sized up to a size Large. I just thew on this top to style the outfit for a full effect. It’s a great basic long sleeve top to pair with patterned bottoms and comes in three other colors.

Erin Skirt

$59.95

I love the colors of this skirt and the suede skirt. The zipper in the corner is a full zipper and it’s what’s used to put the skirt on. I sized up to a Large in this skirt and it has the longest length out of all the skirts I tried on.

Serenity Skort

$59.95

This was my favorite skort out of all of them. I sized up to a large in this skort also and felt the most comfortable length wise. It is still just a tad too short, but it would look great with a pair of tights under them.

Carola Lightweight Sweater

$59.95

These little white dots remind me so much of pearl detailing and it’s such a fun fall sweater. I’m wearing a size Large in this sweater.

Erin Cropped Sweater

$69.95

I love the cable knit of this sweater. It’s thick and gives it a perfect texture. As far as the cropped look goes, I would have liked it more if the lower band wasn’t so wide, but over all it’s a flattering cropped look.

Wynter Skirt

$59.95

A perfect holiday velvet skirt. The draping of the skirt is flattering and the length covers everything. This is another skirt that would pair well with black tights and booties or even with just a pair of over-the-knee boots.

Lovie Plaid Romper

$69.95

Such a cute and fun plaid romper. You could pair this with a long sleeve top under it to wear as the weather gets cooler. I tried this on in a Medium as they were out of a size Large in store. This outfit was the one to confirm that at this store, I’m a size Large. We had a workout getting this dress on. Length wise it hits well on the upper thigh for a mini look.

Alexandra Dress

$149.95

This is such a fun and festive holiday party. If you’re attending any holiday concert or Nutcracker performances and want to dress up for it, this is the perfect dress for it. I’m wearing a size Large in this dress and still feel like it’s a little too tight and short, so for comfort, I would size up two sizes if possible.

Isadora Dress

$149.95

This is the dress of my holiday dreams. When I think of a sparkle dress, this is what comes to mind. I love the asymmetrical look of the skirt part and the sleeve hit long enough on the dress. It is a little low cut for those that have a bigger chest, but over all the dress is comfortable and flattering.

Caraway Dress

$149.95

This shimmer dress is giving me all the 1920 vibes with a mix of modern. I love the pattern of the sequins and the neckline. However, the dress does come up on the sides to make it a little short with the swing.

Shawntie Dress

$89.95

This was the dress that grabbed my attention from across the mall. If the black sequin dress is my New Year’s Eve dress dream, this is my holiday dress dreams. I love a good and flattering gold sequin dress. The sleeves hit at the perfect spot and the length hits the thigh at the perfect spot.
