Modern Day Disney Princess

I’ve been toying with this idea for a Disney Princess series with mainly Amazon outfits since I noticed that my collection of Amazon dresses would work perfectly with the colors associated with each princess. There’s a term that is well known around the “Disney Adult” community called “Disney bounding”. It means to embody a character in your outfit without dressing up in a costume. Because the parks doesn’t allow costumes for anyone over 14 years old, fans have developed this way to dress up as their favorite character using clothes from their closets. I like to think of it as creating Modern Day Disney Princess outfits.

This week is World Princess Week, so I thought this would be the perfect time to share a few different takes on Disney Princess outfits. I was going back and forth trying to decide what order to go in for this series and ultimately decided to go with the order that the movies were released. For this series I have created a few outfit inspos and collages that are cover general every day wear (or just a casual look for the parks), an outfit for the office, an outfit for the parks with matching ears to complete the look and then collages of graphic tees for each princess.

Snow White is first up in this series. Her film debuted in 1937. I almost consider her the forgotten princess of the main group (aside from Pocahontas and Mulan) because she is the first one and not nearly as popular as later princesses. The main colors on her dress are navy blue and yellow with a hint of red on the sleeves. I leaned in more to the navy color scheme for my outfits, but added in some small details to help make her character stand out, even just in a subtle way.
