Hey y’all! I’ve been thinking a lot about what new things I wanted to bring to y’all to share some outfit inspiration. One thing I did in 2022 was try and hone in on a style that I felt I had and the one that made me feel most confident was a mix of preppy classic with girly feminine. I’m talking a lot of J Crew, Anthropologie, Madewell, and Hill House Home. Now because this type of style is not only timeless but also becoming popular again with the Grandmillennial lifestyle, more brands are starting to bring this style into their catalog. Some brands that have done this is Abercrombie, Target, H&M and even Amazon.
With Spring coming up, I thought I would share this Spring Capsule of timeless pieces in your closet that will never go out of style, but is also affordable and help bring in the warmer weather. I’m not sure if this will be the only Spring Capsule I’ll do this year because I leaned so heavily into the blue and white color palette, but honestly I love each item in this capsule and either have these items or an older variation of it in my closet.

- Chambray Button down Shirt – This is probably my most worn item in my closet that is in this capsule. This shirt is the epitome of spring when you think about it, especially when paired with white jeans. I’ve worn my shirt in tons of different ways – white jeans, different wash denim, leggings, and shorts (and back years ago, different colored jeans). This is a timeless piece that will never go out of style and is very versatile. (Here’s a different style of the same shirt)
- Denim Jacket – Another timeless piece that will never go out of style. This is the perfect item to have for when the air becomes cooler throughout the day. You can also pair it with every sort of outfit to either dress up a shirt and jeans or dress down a dress or blouse/pants to skirt combo. I bought mine from the Universal Thread brand at Target a few years ago and it has held up well and has a stretchy material to help allow movement in the arms
- Field Jacket – This is probably the oldest item I have in my closet and I love to wear it all year round because of the army green color that is so versatile to the Fall and Spring season. Another jacket that works to help dress up or down an outfit but is also a little bit nicer than the denim jacket. I purchased mine from J Crew back in 2015 and it has held up extremely well.
- White Jeans – The classic of all classics. No Spring or Summer capsule can be complete without a pair of white jeans. I love to wear white jeans with a brightly colored or patterned top to feel lighter and more vibrant in the warmer weather. Everybody needs at least one pair of white jeans in their closet. I also highly recommend a pair of distressed white jeans for a more casual look.
- Slingback Heels – This pair is on my wishlist of items I want to purchase for my closet. Another classic look that works for a dressed up office setting with a blouse and trouser look or to dress up a casual outfit for brunch.
- Blue and White Floral Smocked Puff Sleeve Dress – Everyone needs a light colored floral dress in their closet for the spring season, especially if attending a wedding during the season. This blue and white dress is a simple, elegant and timeless look and it also comes in a mini dress version. The smocked puff sleeve look is classic and clean with a girly feminine feel, but also has all the comfort in wearing it.
- White dress – Another must have in your closet, especially if you’re a graduate, a sorority member, or a bride to be. This is another timeless warm weather look and a popular themed event for the Spring/Summer time is Black and White parties. You never know when you’ll need a white dress and there are so many different styles out there to fit your style.
- White tee – This is a timeless piece that works year round, but especially in the spring to pair under the lightweight jackets for the cooler nights. Such a versatile piece of clothing, I love this one from Madewell because of the pocket in the corner and the loose V-neck look.
- White Sneakers – I love my white sneakers so much that I have two different pairs. While I need to grab a pair that are solely white without any logos on the side, I love styling my sneakers. In the Springtime, I love to pair them with my dresses to give them a more casual and everyday feel along with the denim jacket.
- White Crossbody Bag – Another versatile bag. I love my crossbody bag for my work days because you can fit so much more into it than you think and it’s easy to grab and go. It’s so lightweight, but is also a simple touch to pull an entire outfit together.
- Loafers – My favorite pair of shoes to wear, especially the Sam Edelman pairs! I was very much into mules a few years ago and one of the sales associates convinced me to try out the loafers and I’m so glad that I did. I’ve now have had mine for at least three years and could maybe start thinking about replacing them. They are NYC walking approved and so comfy and they also go with so many different outfits. I love to dress them up or down. Such a timeless and preppy item that will never go out of style.
- Leather Tote Bag – I’ve wanted this bag for years and have no regrets about finally snagging the Madewell bag during their Black Friday sale. This bag is such a great work bag because it fits electronics of all sizes while still looking compact and not over stuffed. I love the two different straps to allow for either an elbow carry or a shoulder carry. If you’re in the market for a medium sized work bag, I highly recommend this one.
- Nude Braided Heels – The heels I wore the most last year and another item that you can play around with to dress up or down. I also have the same style in the sandals form and they were comfy to wear around Disney Springs for a few hours last summer.
