9 Last Minute Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

If you’re like me, you’ve waited until the last minute to figure out what to wear for dinner on Thanksgiving or you keep changing your mind on what to wear. I started this fun reel series on my Instagram, but wanted to also share it with y’all here on the blog of a few different Thanksgiving outfit ideas to help you either shop your closet or the stores for your perfect look.

A little bonus for reading this post: you get to see the final outfit idea before it’s posted on Instagram and it’s also what I’ll be wearing for Thanksgiving this year 😊.

Hill House Nap Dress // Crew Neck Waffle Knit Sweater // Sarah Flint Suede Heels (use code SARAHFLINT-BAMELISSALEIGHS for $50 off first pair of shoes)// knotted headband (similar here)

If you love the comfort and flow of a loose dress like the smocked nap dress, this is a top contender for your Thanksgiving dinner. Make it cozy or more of a fall/winter look by throwing a sweater on over it (pro tip: put a sports bra on over the dress and tuck the bottom of the sweater into the sports bra for a clean cropped look). Paired with headbands and heels for a polished and classic look or dress it down with loafers, flats or white sneakers. This look gives you plenty of comfort for all the food we’re eating this week.

Waffle Knited Tie Waist Sweater Dress // Steve Madden Ankle Boots (similar here and here)

Another classic combo of a sweater dress and ankle booties for a classic fall look. This sweater dress is an Amazon prime find and comes in so many different colors. I’m 5’8 for reference of the length of the dress. For those that are in colder weather, you can easily add tights to this outfit or even taller boots for a warmer look.

Tie Waist Knit Sweater Dress // White Booties // Headband (sold out, but linked store for more finds) // Crossbody Purse

Another great dress option for thanksgiving is pairing your favorite fall dress with a white pair of booties. I choose this Amazon dress for the beautiful fall color. It is on the shorter side, so you can also pair it with tights for an effortless look.

Red Sweater (similar here and here)// Madewell Skinny Jeans (similar here)// Loafers

This effortless look is so easy to make your own while staying in your closet. Pair your favorite pair of jeans with your comfiest sweater for an easy and classic look.

Target Cable Knit Sweater // Old Navy Flannel Button Up // High Rise Skinny Jeans // Loafers

This preppy look is a repeat outfit for me during the colder months. Find any button up shirt in your closet with a thin sweater and jeans to contrast the colors of the shirt. My preference is to grab a plaid flannel to have more color options to pair the sweater with.

Madewell V Neck Pocket Tee // Amazon Joggers // Nike Sneakers

If you’re having a low key immediate family only Thanksgiving, here’s the outfit for you. A comfy athleisure look for hanging around the house all day complete with the comfort of being overstuffed from food and ready for the post Thanksgiving nap.

Suede Jacket (this years version here) // Scallop Cami // Spanx Faux Leather Leggings // Suede Booties (this years version here)

A polished, but slightly edgy look that can be styled many different ways. If you saw my video with this outfit, you also saw it styled with heels if you’re part of a family that likes to dress up for dinner. These leggings can also be paired with the sweaters from the previous outfit or an oversized sweater.

Old Navy Long Sleeve Bodysuit // Suede Skirt (similar version here) // Spanx tights // Loafers

A classic part pretty part parisian style that has me want to stroll an old bookstore, this is a fun neutral outfit where you could either add a pop of color through jewelry or hair accessories. You also have the option to change out the shirt for a more colorful shirt to fit your style.

Purple Floral Blouse // Distressed Boyfriend Jeans // White Booties

This is my selection for a Thanksgiving outfit this year. I found a fall floral blouse with a pair of jeans for a polished yet comfortable look. For those that want to dress up a little, but not over do it, this is an easy look to recreate with any blouse in your closet.
